Andy Tallevi has participated in the Half Marathon of the Mississauga Marathon every year since 2009. Andy is 63 years young and has an incredible personal goal. MISSISSAUGA, ON- The 19th running of the Mississauga Marathon was one to remember, as over 6000 participants across five events celebrated the return to in person racing. The race was a huge success as personal records were broken in front of thousands of spectators taking in the day.
Throughout history, there have been many outstanding female pioneers in their respective fields, who have dispelled myths and broken through the metaphorical glass ceiling. This year for International Women’s Day, Landmark Sport Group and the Mississauga Marathon have chosen to highlight some of the amazing women […]
To our dedicated participants and supporters,
The 17th edition of the Mississauga Marathon, scheduled for September 18 – 20, will be moving to a virtual event, following the advice of Peel Public Health, Peel Regional Police and the City of Mississauga.
As is the case with many small businesses in the GTA, in Ontario, and all over the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected us as well. In saying this, all registrants who are currently registered for the 2020 Mississauga Marathon will automatically have their registration deferred to our 2021 event, taking place April 30 – May 2.
We promise to bring you the tradition of the Mississauga Marathon, the experience that you know and love, virtually this fall. We know there are many of you who run with us every year and we will do our best to bring this world class experience to you this September as you walk or run in your hometown community. We will be holding a virtual race that will provide you the opportunity to participate from September 11 – October 11. All runners will receive the prestigious official Mississauga Marathon race medal for taking part in the event. We will also hold weekly contests and draws for various prizes. We will have full details on the virtual race shortly.
You must register separately for the virtual race through our website. Registration is $35 for all distances and you will receive the official 2020 Mississauga Marathon medal. $10 from your registration will be given directly to the Trillium Health Partners Foundation in support of their health care workers at the Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Hospital.
As we are a small business that has been affected greatly by the pandemic, we would very much appreciate it if you would refrain from requesting a refund if you plan to run with us in 2021. We have made a large financial investment into this year’s event which makes refunds a challenge, as these costs and expenses are not recoverable. We do understand there are some who really need the refund which will be considered, however due to the new safety precautions that will be incorporated into the event, a price increase next year is inevitable. By accepting the deferral to 2021, you would incur no price increase.
Please email us at info@mississaugamarathon.com if you have any questions. Registration for the virtual run is available at mississaugahalf.ca/register.
Your love and support is what keeps this event running every year. For that, we are truly thankful.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mississauga Marathon partners with Trillium Health Partners Foundation to raise funds to honour our health care workers
Mississauga, ON – The annual Mississauga Marathon is teaming up with the Trillium Health Partners Foundation (THPF) to join our family of charitable fundraising partners.
The partnership aims to not only raise funds to ensure the safety of these local heroes, but to acknowledge the enormous commitment our health care workers are making. We also want to share their stories and to honour the unselfish contributions that they make on a daily basis.
“Trillium Health Partners (THP) is my hospital – it’s where my son and I were both born,” says Caroline Riseboro, President and CEO of Trillium Health Partners Foundation. “Raising funds for THP during this global emergency is so important. Every day hospital staff suit up to battle the virus and help patients. By supporting the Foundation, you ensure our hospital colleagues have the resources they need to stay safe and save lives. Thank you!”
THPF joins 21 local and national charities in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge Program, allowing participants to fundraise and donate to any of these causes.
“We want to help in any way that we can to assist the health care workers in our community,” says Elliott Kerr, Race Chairman and President of Landmark Sport Group. “We respect and appreciate everything that they do and everything that they give to all of us, as they risk their lives every single day. We are proud to be able to provide an opportunity for everyone to show their support and admiration and to work closely with our friends at the Trillium Health Partners Foundation to make this happen.”
The 17th edition of the event, which was set to take place in May has been rescheduled to September 18-20, 2020 due to the COVID-19 shutdown. Event organizers continue to follow the guidance of Peel Public Health, the Province of Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer and the World Health Organization in preparation for the September run.
About the Trillium Health Partners Foundation
